Dear friends,
Many congratulations & thanks on becoming a part of the Aryan Juggernaut. We hope that our bond deepens as the UWL goes on and then some more beyond!
This first post is a sneak peek into who we are, our interests and some of our passions.
Read On.
Abhishek Nayak:
Abhishek Nayak - The Cerebral Hitman
Cheering up a very innovative concept which has done enough to sustain a constant cultural change at IIFT, seen very much after the commencement of first ever CS tournament. Is was so much enthused by the idea of managing a team that I decided to part away with my first love i.e. Gaming. Only have one thing to say to my team - Have fun, enjoy the spirit and victory will surely be ours.
Sujoy Sagar:
“Eating is cheating” - a much repeated line that almost defines sujoy sagar for everyone who has ventured to party with him! You would soon realise though that there is much more to him. A diehard Chelsea fan, wouldn’t miss a match for anything. Like a true Chandigarh Punjabi, he loves his bhangra and is brilliant at it! Notorious for sleeping through classes, goes through amazing transformation as soon as he sets his heart on doing something, be it a paper or UWL. No sleep, food or ‘other’ distractions can come in the way of work then! A true people’s person – is familiar with life histories and family trees of the owners of every dhaba he has ever visited. As a freak twist though, is unbelievably bad at names and has been known to walk right up to a very senior professor at IIFT, and ask for the professor himself! Perhaps thats one of the reasons why the student exchange programme didn’t materialise for mr. Sagar.
He knows the best places to eat(and drink), from the most posh hotels to the cheapest roadside dhabas. His favourite move on the dance floor is an imaginary butt slapping move, much loved and imitated by apu! Comes up with the choicest (and coarsest) Punjabi names for KT, that are so unheard of that one finds it difficult to even take offense.
Ketan Kaushish:
Dont let that innocent face fool you, there is more to Ketan than what meets the eye. A fabulous dancer, amazing sportsman and an awesome imitator(his Simpu Sodhi imitation deserves a special mention) Ketan can surprise you when you least expect it. He is one of the most helpful people i have met who will go out of his way to lend a helping hand and can never say no to anyone. Despite cracking a million PJ's he manages to crack you up with a good joke once in a while. If you look up the word mischievous in the dictionary it will have ketans picture next to it. He can always be seen with that typical grin on his face which shows that he is up to something. Despite being health conscious and running on the treadmill for hours, he will hog on Rajasthani food dripping with ghee and force his other friends to do the same, i guess he can use the extra calories given that he is so regular with his midnight health walks!. A delhite in the true sense, he remembers every random road in Delhi and then loves showing of this peculiar talent to his friends. His room is like a dormitory known for loud parties!.One thing that Ketan cannot live without is...no not beer but his evening tea (i guess he needs it at this age!). As i said there is more to Ketan than what meets the eye...the few lucky ones who know him can vouch for this fact.
Saurav Sipani:
Saurabh “Renegade” Sipani is popularly known as one of the Fin Studs of the batch with the enviable capability of understanding each and every jargon that even ‘Kapil Dev’ throws at him. Although he has a less publicized ‘Jaipur’ connection and a more publicized ‘Ex-Ceram’ connection, he is currently in direct competition with one of the stallions. Our very own brand manager, Smacky has been often heard shouting out “Sipani, Sipani” in his sleep!!!..Moreover we have also heard from our sources that this guy was mentioned on the crush list of uncountable number of girls during engineering.
The Renegade is dedicated, energetic and humble at the same time, and being the outright extrovert, he gets along really well with the entire batch…But once you start speaking about sports, the real champ in him wakes up. He is a passionate follower of EPL as well as F1. A total pro at Baddy, CS and Basketball, this guy even turned out to be an awesome beer guzzler in his debut during the Reverse Fresher’s. So guys, get ready to welcome The Renegade into the UWL.
Dhruv Bhatia:
Affascinare Amichevole Meraviglioso - which means Charming, Adorable Amazing Bhatia. Hes's learning Italian to brighten up his prospects for the International Interaction process. The guy is a friend to everybody and always has a smile on his face. And the best dunk-er out here at IIFT. His knowledge of sports would put encyclopedias to shame. In these days of learning italian, some enticing poetry can be heard in room 45, the contents of which are best not discussed. Knowing our Bhaita, today all his thoughts are on "Amore Amore Amore." May the quest be fulfilled soon.
Debajyoti Bhattacharyya:
North Rocks. His t-shirt proclaims his allegiance to this directional love for the north, even though he belongs to bengal or bhopal or ludhiana. He is a person of integrity and feeling, he does everyhting with a passion beyond sometimes the tolerance of normal men, be it studying at 3:00 am at night or reading novels just before his exam. He is innovative and helpful, taking care that people can sleep in their beds while the others toil in class. the CR of Sec-A is a wonderful cricket and computer games player, and his "specially cover protected laptop" draws many sighs of admiration whenever it is brought within the reach of us lesser men. His knowledge of computers is wider and deeper than any other in IIFT and currently he is pursuing his "Double-MBA" the other institute being somewhere in Ludhiana. Just one thing more about dear "Debu", he can sing quite well which he usually does for his beautiful girlfriend morning, day and night.
Shivam ' the one' Vasisht:
He is an inhabitant of the concrete jungle of Delhi. He can be most commonly seen roaming in and around a place called IIFT. He is also known by the name of "Polar Bear". He goes into hibernation as soon as he enters his den no. 64. He survives on liquor and it is believed that he eats food and drinks water only as part of social norm. He loves sleeping, movies, rock music , photography, his bike and .................................. well.. Even I'm trying to find out!!
He is a great athlete, friend and for many a stockist of ......... (some know that , rest find out)
Renupriya Sagar:
You will be mesmerised by her captivating face,
You will be enchanted by her sugar sweet voice,
You will be beguiled by her ever helping nature...
But...
Don’t get swayed by this “lovely girl next door” because beneath lies a
different story
She is a complete sports freak...you name it, she plays it..
Cricket captain of her school, badminton, chess, caroms, volley ball and
what not..
If any of you would have been awake during the yoga classes, you would
have been appalled by her passion and dedication..
And if you haven’t seen her running then watch out...you gonna be
surprised..
She loves to cook, she loves to eat, she has a storehouse of sweets,
juice, cakes, fruits, chocolates...which is the secret of her energy
(not boost :))
So get ready to face her “on the field”...she will play you and she will
beat...MIND IT!!!
Radhika:
Loves food, loves her sleep, and cracks bad jokes. She can kick Dilip and Tarunesh's ass in eating competitions.. and yeah, can play a bit too (in case that was supposed to be the point of the blog!)
Varun Bajla:
" Reality is an illusion caused due to Alcohol deficiency"
So I just guzzle my way through life !!!
The man and his motto. Need we say more ??
Maylis de Laboulaye:
May : I am a French girl coming from Grenoble. I love travelling and India is surely big enough to fulfil my curiosity. I am very dynamic and like practicing any kind of sport but overall dance. I will show you the best during this competition (At least I hope so!).
Divya Kodati:
Divya "DK" Kodati personfies grace, quiet charm and sweetness..
very fond of gtalk n orkut...exhausts her quota of orkut usage everyday...
speaks hindi with a very cute south indian accent!!
has a 'punjabi' connection in life..'all rights already reserved' on her.. :)
loves to go home...
spicy food is her weakness...a true hyderabadi at heart, she swears by biryani :)
has a love for her phone, always goes out of the room for her 'private conversations'...
already making a list for her french shopping in the winter...
watches movies ardently, especially telugu ones..
Sreejith Nair:
nair has the uncanny knack of sleeping anywhere and everywhere..including in an auto...
called "paapi" because of his many sins in life..the shouts of his name can be heard very often in the campus
special affection for an inanimate object in room number 35....
one of the cutest guys on campus, has been rated on the top 3 of scores of women...
fondly called 'thenge' nair for his height...
an ace sketcher...refer to geetanjali's orkut album for more details...
doesn't look it but extremely good with the high voltage emotional stuff...
has an interesting 'trivandrum' connection...
does his work the last minute but does it well..
always ready to have as much food as possible in life - eats 12 rotis each for lunch n dinner...even got ready to try out camel milk and actually managed to love it...
has an amazing sense of humor n watch out for the really exceptional expression he has to impersonate a crying kid...
has been called juvenile for so many reasons now that we have lost count...
takes half an hour to get ready for any outing...
in all, complete with a million dollar smile, nair is the guy to watch out for...
Satvinder:
Known as the “Gabbar” of the Sixth floor. This guy has a peculiar habit of going to sleep at 10 o’ clock in the night and waking up @ 3 in the morning. The best way to get to know Gabbar is to come to Room No 64 after 10 p.m and scream at the top of your voice…..if you want to hear the details, pls contact Sudipta Mondol. Very simple at heart and always willing to help, this guy is a great friend.

The Power Of 6
Let us take the worth of 6:
In religion
The Day that God created Man
The number of points on a Star of David
The number of orders of the Mishnah
The number of symbolic foods placed on the Passover Seder Plate
The Jewish holiday of Shavuot starts on the sixth day of the Hebrew month of Sivan
#6, the pseudonym of American musician Shawn Crahan, when performing with Slipknot
The number of strings on a standard guitar
The number of basic holes or keys on most woodwind instruments (e.g., pennywhistle, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon). These holes or keys are usually not given numbers or letters in the fingering charts
"Six geese a-laying" were given as a present on the sixth day in the popular Christmas carol, "The Twelve Days of Christmas"
In sports
In American and Canadian Football, the number of points received for a touchdown
In rugby union, the position of blindside flanker
In football/soccer, the number of AC Milan's legendary centre back and captain Franco Baresi. The shirt was retired in 1997.
In football/soccer, the number of Arsenal's legendary centre back and captain Tony Adams. The shirt was retired in 2002 on his retirement but has recently been passed on to Philippe Senderos.
In football/soccer, the number of Roy Keane for the Irish International Squad.
In football (soccer), the number of substitutes combined by both teams, that are allowed in the game.
In baseball, six represents the shortstop's position
In Australian Rules football, six points are received for a goal
In cricket (See cricket terminology):
a "six" or "sixer" is a shot in which the ball clears the boundary without bouncing, scoring six runs
there are six balls to an over
In ice hockey, the number of players per team, including the goaltender, that are on the ice at any one time, excluding penalty situation.
And..... The number of cans of soda or beer in a six-pack!!! Does that make us a sureshot winner in beer guzzling ??

Why this Logo ?
The Aryans logo & the power of six
All those who have seen the Aryans logo, must have noticed that the logo has two wings with six partitions in between. the question is why this as a logo, what is its relevance and what is its purport?
The logo starts with the Aryan's love, respect and admiration for the number six. Six is the smallest perfect number. Being perfect six is the root of the 6-aliquot tree, and is itself the aliquot sum of only one number; the square number, 25. Unrelated to 6 being a perfect number, even more it is a Golomb ruler of length 6 is a "perfect ruler."
Six is the first discrete biprime (2.3) and the first member of the (2.q) discrete biprime family.
Six is the only number that is both the sum and the product of three consecutive positive numbers.[2]
Six is a unitary perfect number, a harmonic divisor number and a highly composite number. The next highly composite number is 12.The smallest non-abelian group is the symmetric group S3 which has 3! = 6 elements.
S6, with 720 elements, is the only finite symmetric group which has an outer automorphism. This automorphism allows us to construct a number of exceptional mathematical objects such as the S(5,6,12) Steiner system, the projective plane of order 4 and the Hoffman-Singleton graph. A closely related result is the following theorem: 6 is the only natural number n for which there is a construction of n isomorphic objects on an n-set A, invariant under all permutations of A, but not naturally in 1-1 correspondence with the elements of A.
In all there is thus, the number six lays precedence. For for the glory of al us indians, the number six has a history which is far greater than even that of zero. Cause it is us who wrote the first six, the old Brahmins of India, who wrote it in one stroke like a cursive lowercase e rotated 45 degrees clockwise. Gradually, the upper part of the stroke (above the central squiggle) became more curved, while the lower part of the stroke (below the central squiggle) became straighter. The Ghubar Arabs dropped the part of the stroke below the squiggle. From there, the European evolution to our modern 6 was very straightforward, aside from a flirtation with a glyph that looked more like an uppercase G.
